Fruit Brazil
by Savanna Serret
This sweet and sour fruit is used to flavour regional drinks, to make cakes, juices, liqueurs, jams, puddings and sorbets. When eaten raw with sugar, the fruits are mildly laxative and are also used to treat cough and bronchitis. Oil is extracted from the seeds and used for cooking and pharmaceutical purposes.
